  1. So, here goes!

My kids all went to public school. Where we live, the schools are still very moral and have a 'religious' undertone. Besides, I didn't think I was organized enough to homeschool them all.

  2. I have 6 kids. They were quite a testimony in their school.

    ReplyDelete
  3. My youngest just turned 18, the oldest is 29. Middle kids are 28, 27, 24, and 20

  4. Our public schools start mid Aug and get out for a 2 week potato harvest. Only the highschool kids can work now, but when I was a kid, we picked potatoes...it was the only way our families could afford school clothes. My college age girls start the end of Aug. (27thish)?

  5. This will be my first year of not loading up on notebooks etc for the girls. But, I've had to dish out finding stuff for their apt. Glad they can be together rather than living on campus and in a dorm!

  6. Survive???? This will be the first time in 30 years that hubby and I are alone...I am sooooo psyched!!!!! it may be a tad boring without the tales the girls always have around the dinner table, but I am so looking forward to not having to clean up behind anyone but hubby and I!

  7. Kids are not in school yet but will go to private.

  8. We run school all year; learning is an everyday lifelong thing.

    ReplyDelete
  9. We buy things as we need them, so we don't do a big shopping trip.

    ReplyDelete
  10. We survive by taking it day by day.

  11. My daughter goes to public school. We live in a little country area and I just love the school. It is actually the same one that I attended when I was little.

    ReplyDelete
  12. My son is starting public kinder this year.

    ReplyDelete
  13. My oldest son will be going to kindergarten this year. And he is going to public school, but after this year we may think about private. I actually was homeschooled for part of my childhood, and don't think I would do it with my children.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I have 4 kids, ages 6, 4, 2 and 6 weeks.

    ReplyDelete
  28. 6. My plan to survive is similar to yours--when you have a three year old you take one day at a time, invest in good art supplies, books, and puzzles, and accept the fact that sometimes you just have to plop them in front of the T.V. for thirty minutes while you regain your sanity :)

Our schools start September 8th. My husband and I are teachers so we go back the same day as Connor starts.

    ReplyDelete
  66. 5. Is your school shopping done and What do you shop for?

No! Dh and I always shop for school supplies for our classrooms - we teach in a low SES district and our students don't have much. Its easier for us to provide what we want them to have rather than have someone go without. So we hit up all of the major school sales for paper, pencils, crayons, glue, all of it! For our ds, we haven't gotten a list of his needed supplies yet but will get that next week. Plus, we also all shop for some new school clothes! Not done yet!

    ReplyDelete
  67. 6. Let us know what your plan to survival is!

My plan to survival? I start prepping for a major freezer cooking session to have dinners set aside for the month of september. I will cook between 10-20 meals next week and freeze them in reheatable containers. Then I can just add a quick side and call it good. We are huge fans of our IPhones for the sheer fact that they sync to our family calendars. We always know whats going on and when. And finally, my biggest help - all bags get packed the night before along with lunches!
