These Babies are really cute!!
The kids were so excited to get them! We've been talking
about getting chickens for over a year now and finally did it!
We've been hard at work getting their new home ready for
over a month now and hubby just finished the electric yesterday!
Here's their new home!
(I should have gotten a picture of the whole coop we built...
well maybe another day!!!)

We ended up with 23 chicks
11 Rhode Island Reds-- these are red
6 Silver and Gold laced Wyandottes-- these are black
6 Isa Browns -- these are blonde colored
It's a really pretty mix of colors!!
Our research says these are all very
easygoing and great egg layers
We shall see!!!
Awww. I can't wait to meet them!! They are so cute!
ReplyDeleteAwww . . . they're cute!
ReplyDeleteSweet! Did you get females or mix? Hopefully you don't get many roosters or you get some rooster stew! My dad got "all females" last year, and ended up with 2 roos. You will be able to tell within a few weeks, they have more of a comb on them and they will look different. We love our chickies, and the eggs... yes. You will NEVER be able to do store bought again...
ReplyDeleteI can relate to waiting, my son and I planted our seeds for the garden in doors. We are just waiting to see them germinate!
ReplyDeleteAwww They are to cute! I have 4 chicks right now that are about 4 weeks old, and will be getting 5 more baby chicks from a friend in 4 weeks. They are so fun to raise, and I can't wait for the fresh eggs. I nominated you for a Kreativ Blogger Award, so stop by my site to check it out if you get a chance. Thanks!!
