Kroger!!!

The Kroger Store I normally went to went out of
business months ago. So I don't make it to Kroger weekly
anymore.... Can I just say...
I MISS IT!!!!

Kroger really is a great store, if you shop
their sales!!!
This picture cost me
$32.71

My receipt says I saved $63.56 (66%).

I got 39 items. Which is under$1. per item....
including big pack of TP, 3 pizzas, 3 gallon milk, and a big
tub of icecream which are not cheap items!
I was excited!!

I might have to figure out a way to make
it to this store a little more often!!

Okay I'm done promoting Kroger for free now...
Have a great day!!!!

Weekly Groceries

No grocery pictures today...
I know I'm slacking!!!!

I went to my local bulk food store again this week, but only for a few select items. I saw in their ad that they had bulk 50# of High Gluten Flour for only $9.95
Whoa that's only $1. per 5 lbs!

Anyway now I have to start making my own bread! Something
I've been wanting to give a whirl. It's soooo yummy!

If you're local (around Shipshewana, Indiana) you can check out
E&S Sales for that awesome flour deal. Also while I was there
I picked up 10 packs of smoky links at only $1.39 each -- CHEAP!!!
I picked a few other items and spent around $31.xx

I will be heading out to Kroger later today to take
advantage of their Mega Sale!

If I get a little time I'll let you know how
that trip turned out!!

Hope everyone has a great Weekend!
The Weather is supposed to be Beautiful around here!

Caramel Apple Walnut Squares

I found this recipe in our Family Cookbook
and it looks so good.
I haven't tried it yet but I will be soon!!!

Caramel Apple Walnut Squares

1 3/4 cup flour
1 cup quick oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup butter
1 cup chopped walnuts
20 caramels, unwrapped
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 can apple pie filling

preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In large bowl combine flour, oats, sugar, baking soda, and salt; cut in butter until crumbly. Reserving 1 1/2 cups of crumb mixture, press remainder on the bottom of 13x9 pan. Bake 15 minutes.

Add walnuts to reserved crumb mixture.
In heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt caramels with sweetened condensed milk, stirring until smooth. Spoon apple filling over prepared crust; top with caramel mixture then reserved crumb mixture. Bake 20 minutes or until set. Cool. Serve warm with icecream!

My mouth is watering!!!
