Homemade Pizza Sauce!
Wow! Another week without a new bread recipe!
(don't worry I'm still making them and I'll share soon!)
I have always either bought Store brand or
Chef Boyardee Pizza sauce.
Normally this runs around $1.00 - $1.29 per 15 oz can.
Here is a recipe for pizza sauce that will only
cost you around .65 cents!!
**You even know and can
pronounce the entire ingredients list!!!
I 've been tweaking this for about 2-3 weeks. It's
still not perfect for us, but it's close enough that
I won't be buying pizza sauce anymore!!
To see the original recipe go
here.
Here's my version...15 oz of Tomato Sauce
1 tsp. oregano
1/2- 1 tsp. Italian Seasoning
1/2 tsp sugar
1/4 - 1/2 tsp garlic powder
The first time I made it was my best run. Of course that time
I just threw it all together. I haven't been able
to make it quite the same since.
The 2nd time I made it, it had a very strong garlic taste.
So I reduced garlic. The 3rd and 4th time I made it our pizza
tasted like there was sausage on it, only I didn't use any sausage.
I'm pretty sure that's the Italian Seasoning.
So I am going to reduce the Italian to 1/2 tsp.
(or I might take it out completely)
The nice thing is... Anything goes!! Try it and
start tweaking to fit your families taste buds!!
Do you have a simple perfect pizza sauce you always use??
I'd love the recipe to try!!
I'll also continue tweaking this one
until it's just perfect!!!

Here are a few favorites of mine...
Chocolate chip muffinsBrowniesPizza CrustChocolate Chip CookiesTo make these a quick baking mix, just mix the dry
ingredients and store in container or baggie. Then
when you're ready to make it, just add the wet ingredients
and you're done. This is the same idea as if you would buy
a boxed brownie or muffin mix at the store!
I'll be working on more of these as the weeks press on!!
