I Have a New Niece

I'm an Aunt again!!!

Sarah Elizabeth was born last night, just after midnight! She was 9 lbs 8 oz! I just got back from seeing her. She's so cute, she has dark hair and a double chin!!! I love the chub on babies!

A quick tally told me I now have 7 Nieces and 8 Nephews. Which means I'm the Aunt to 15 kids (btw the oldest of those 15 kids is only 8) oh and I have another Nephew on the way due in a couple months!

Yep add all those kids to my 4 munchkins, and both sides of the family have a circus when we all get together! I love big families!!

Spring cleaning update

I wanted to give a quick update! If you remember here, we are cleaning the main bathroom this week! Here is my first cleaning post earlier in the week.

I managed to get the blinds and window done. I also cleaned out the cupboards, medicine cabinet, and general cleaning! I have yet to get to the floors or the tub. If all goes well maybe I will get to it on Saturday!

I have no new pics since everything looks pretty much the same, just hopefully ALOT less germs!!

Total was $53.77 for 64 items! Around .85 cents per item!

I even splurged and bought hubby Burger King Chips- he loves the ketchup and fries flavor.

About a year ago we could get them at Menards, then they stopped carring them and we couldn't find them anywhere. I saw in Kroger's ad that it's a new item so I got him some!

Only problem is that their sale price was $1.79 which isn't bad EXCEPT it's for a 5.5 oz bag...OUCH!!!

Hmmm how do I start...This idea hit me like a ton of bricks. The Lord really laid this on my heart. I'm going to start a mister linky for sharing God's word, Encouragement, or Prayer requests. I don't want this to become a debate on how we interpret God's word but rather a way to encourage and pray for one another.

Wouldn't if be great if we could hop from one blog to another and receive encourage from God's word and know who and what to pray for. When we have a prayer request wouldn't it be great to know that there's lots of people out there praying just for you! I think that would be awesome! We serve an awesome God and I'm excited to see Him work.

Your post can be as simple as a verse from the Bible, a simple prayer request to as in depth and personal as you want to be. I'm sure it will vary from week to week depending on what God is working on and speaking to you in your life.

Small baking day!

Since we've been out of muffins, I decided to have a small baking day! I love to keep muffins in the freezer and be able to just pull them out for breakfast. It's so convenient

These are just simple chocolate chip muffins. I've posted the recipe before. See it here.

I also discovered that Halee (my 8yr old) loves Zucchini bread about as much as I do. So I made us 2 loaves today. It's a very simple recipe. We'll eat one this week and freeze the other. See the recipe here.

I didn't make pecan pie muffins today but came across my recipe and remembered how much I love these! This is a wonderful recipe with only 5 simple ingredients!

Pecan Pie Mini Muffins

1 cup Brown Sugar, packed

1/2 cup Flour

1 cup pecans, chopped

2/3 cup butter, melted

2 eggs, beaten

In a bowl, combine br.sugar, flour, and pecans; Set aside. In another bowl combine butter and eggs and mix well. Stir in flour mixture until just moistened.

Fill paper lined mini muffin cups 2/3 full

Bake 350 degrees for 20-25 min.

Remove immediately and cool on racks

Makes 3 dz. mini muffins! ENJOY

My tip this week is about coupons! I know big surprise right!

My tip is to contact companies to get some great coupons.

It's really quite simple. Just go here (when you get there scroll down to 2nd post) to Hot Coupon World. They've done all the work for us. Just click on the name of a company in that post and it will take you right to the correct page. Fill out the form and submit. You can either praise an item, complain if you have a legit complaint, or just tell them you'd love to try the product. At the bottom of your comment, just tell them that if they ever send out coupons you'd love to have some!

I've done it about 10 times! I have gotten 4 coupons for free products and several other coupons that have doubled or tripled to result in free products. It's very worth the time it takes to do it. I have no idea why I don't do it more. It's so fun to get those envelopes in the mail! It was fast to, most of them I got within 2 weeks of submitting!

If you love coupons, I encourage you to give it a try!

Spring Cleaning--Bathroom

This week we're working on the main bathroom. I am going to work on what we consider the master bath. It's not in our room so it's also the bath guests use. Our other bath is upstairs and that's the one the kids use.

I think it's cute and it's very functional too. Since we don't have a closet in our bath it's where I store towels!

This week my plan is to deep clean. Wipe off the blinds one by one, clean out the cupboards (you'd be amazed how much is stuffed in there), generally clean, and clean the floor. Now cleaning the floor is a pretty big job. If you use hairspray, you know what I'm talking about. The build up is yucky. Any ideas on the best way to get it clean??

This week I'm being lazy and not doing any new recipes!! But we are looking forward to the yummy grilled food!!! Maybe I'll try a new dessert recipe...Maybe!

Here's a great marinade for grilled food. We use it mostly for Chicken. Thanks Gen!!

1/2 cup veg. oil

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 TBS Vinegar

2 TBS Soy Sauce

1 tsp. garlic powder

2 TBS Parsley (I use 1)

1 tsp. ground ginger

1 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. pepper

Mix and let the meat sit in marinade 8-48 hrs! Turn meat every once in a while.
