Lots of Snow Play!!
Here's what the boys have been up to today! Sledding, sledding, and more sledding. I think we're probably up to about 9 inches of the white stuff...and it's still coming!
Have a great snow day and don't forget the hot coco!

Menards trip done!
Here's one more store to report on! MENARDS---All this FREE!!!(after rebates come)
Well it was kind of a scavenger hunt to find all the things but Shad and I made it through the store with out too much difficulty!
We spent $30.33
We got all the rebate items and a $10 gift card for Shawn to use later. My rebates should total $19. So as soon as we get them we'll use that to get the next batch of FREE stuff and hopefully not pay out of pocket again.
Go here to see my first Menards post and what we're doing if you're curious!
Weekly Grocery Trip
I had a little $ left over from last week since I haven't done any "real" shopping in 3 weeks!
So my total for Kroger and Meijer was $71.31. I thought that was a little higher than it should be and sure enough I was charged regular price for my hamburger instead of the Managers Special at Meijer. I didn't see it till I got home...
So I was overcharged by almost $5. grrrrrr.
Well I guess I will just roll with the punch and keep a better eye while ringing stuff up.
Even with that I was still in my budget!
My savings at Kroger was 54% and the total at Meijer saved was $48.45!
I'll be back next week with my normal budget of $55.
see you then!
My Walgreens Trip
I had $15. worth of RR to use from the deals I worked last week.
So after the RR, all my MQ, and the Walgreens Q; my reciept says I saved $52.89!
I'm more excited that I only spent $4.39 for all these very useable groceries.
Make sure you start shopping at Walgreens and you can do it too!
If you want to learn more you can go here to MoneySavingMoms Walgreens 101

Weekly Meals
Here's what we're eating next week...
Mon.-- Waffles with rasp. syrup (some of us will have regular syrup!)
Tues.--Hamburgers with brown gravy, potatoes, and cole slaw
Wed.-- Spaghetti with cheesy bread
Thurs. --Chic. dumplings with mashed potatoes --Sarahs recipe--(I'm finally trying it)
Mon.-- Waffles with rasp. syrup (some of us will have regular syrup!)
Tues.--Hamburgers with brown gravy, potatoes, and cole slaw
Wed.-- Spaghetti with cheesy bread
Thurs. --Chic. dumplings with mashed potatoes --Sarahs recipe--(I'm finally trying it)
Friday--leftovers or out
Saturday-- pizza--maybe Pizza Hut with Book-its
Sunday -- Crock pot Beef roast with potatoes and veggies
This week I only have to buy potatoes. Everything else for all these meals I already have on hand. This way most all of my budget can just buy the things on sale that I have coupons for!
New goal... I'm going to attempt to make one NEW recipe each week. Now this is a lofty goal for me since I seem to get stuck in my ways. But I thought I'd at least try.
This week the new recipe is Chicken and dumplings. I linked to Sarahs recipe above!

Menards 1-4
Here's a new feature that we're pretty excited about.
Did you know that Menards has Free after Rebate items? I guess I always knew that they did but I never thought of using it like I do Walgreens and CVS. Why??? I have no idea. At Christmas Sarah had a bunch of stuff in her "Free" stocking from rebates at Menards...
That got Shawn and I thinking... why aren't we taking advantage of all this FREE stuff. So we're starting this week. We will basically buy the free stuff, wait on the rebates and then use those to buy the next batch of free stuff!! We also are not sure how often they have free stuff...Weekly or Monthly???
The only catch we see is that you have to spend an additional $10. of non rebate items. Well for us having a floor business Shawn spends at least that anyway. But if he has an off week and doesn't need something then we will just get a gift card to use it at a later date.
I doubt there are many families with homes that couldn't spend $10./ week at Menards on things they buy anyway. Like light bulbs, softener salt, tools, or bigger items that you can save the gift cards and use all at once.
Anyway I just thought that I would pass this along. We haven't tried it yet but we will keep you informed as to how works as we find out!
In this weeks flyer we will get...

7 pc. Hex L Key set free after $2. rebate. limit 1
25' extension cord --free after $4. rebate. limit 2
32 oz. De-Icer-- free after $3. rebate limit 2
12 oz. gas treatment -- free after $1.50 rebate limit 2
Color Wonder paint and mega sheet set --$1.99 after $3. rebate. this isn't free but would make a great gift for some ones birthday. limit 2
We will have an initial $20. cost to get the first batch then we will just use that $20. on more rebate items and shouldn't pay out of pocket again. Sounds like a great deal to me!!
Thanks Sarah for the idea!!
