Woah! Thanks for putting together that scenario. I am going to Meijer first thing in the morning to try it out. I will let you know how it goes :D

This could not have gone more smoothly! I am very happy :D

On the boxes of Cocoa Krispies at our store there was a peelie for a free bag of marshmallows when you buy 2 boxes of Cocoa or Rice Krispies!

So I got 10 boxes of cereal, 2 gallons of milk, 4 bags of shredded cheese, and 2 bags of marshmallows for $7.96. Then I also used a $4 your order from a previous deal and only paid $3.96 out of pocket! Fantastic!

Thanks so much for letting us know about this deal!!

Hi Amy, the $1/2 MQ coupon is just a manufacturers coupon that was in a recent Sunday insert for Kellogg's Cereal.
HTH!

Have any of you ever had trouble using the coupon with the Target logo? I know they are manufactures but I've had run-ins at Kroger where they would not accept them.

Megan said...

I've never had a problem at Meijer!!
I also always go to the self checkouts... not sure if that helps but I know it doesn't hurt!!

I did the deal today and it worked awesome! $7.96 total!!

Hope it works for you, and it should since it is a manufacturer coupon!

There's also a coupon that's been running around on the Kellogs website lately for 1.50 off store brand coffee with the purchase of 3 boxes of cereal. I bought a quarter pound of Meijer's store brand ground coffee, paid almost nothing for it, and got a register print for a free bottle of creamer! It's not a deal to be passed up, definitely. =)

There was a peelie on the Corn Flakes boxes for a Free Butter, any brand, any size wyb 2 boxes of Corn flakes!! To bad I didn't even look at the cocoa krispies b/c we can always use marshmellows around here! Might have to go back :)

I went to print out another 5 dollar off four boxes and it printed out a piece of paper that said sorry you have exceeded your household limit when I had only printed one. I am upset that I waisted a picece of paper and ink for that.

Did anyone try this in the central Ohio region without any trouble?

Well my Meijer is stupid. On their self checkout the machine always ignores quantities and tries to take 5 off of 1.. which it will not do since they are 2 dollars.. so the cashier hits a button and it deducts down to two.. So I tell them it is for five and they look at the coupon and instantly say this is a target coupon and we don't except these. The way she said it was like I was trying to steal from her. Then she tells me in a threatening tone she will get the manager. I said fine get the manager. Manager said it's a target coupon we don't take those. I say it says manufacturers coupon on it and has kelloggs address on it! She says she doesn't really know but knows they don't take target coupons. I told her this is your job why dont' you know.. Well anyways I told them to take the cereal off and I bought the rest of my stuff and left. My meijers used to be my favorite deal place but in the past couple of months it has gotten very very frustrating.

Coupon Master, sorry for your experience.

I heard someone mention that the stores/manufacturers should either have manufacturer coupons or store coupons...But NOT manufacturer coupons with a store logo on them... really makes no sense and just causes confusion for us and the stores.

I believe you were right and they should have accepted it. I've also heard that the stores always have the right to not accept a coupon. BUMMER...

Not sure why your registers do that weird thing which is what started your problem?????

I used the 5/4 coupons tonight at Meijer and had no problems at all. Thanks so much for putting together this deal

I am in central Ohio, and my Meijer did the " This is a Target coupon bit". I told her to ask the manager. It only took $2 off. The manager told her how to take the additional $3 off. I had 2 of the coupons and ask her if she did both. She said Yes. When I got home I found out that she only did one. I am ticked. The store probably sends the coupon to manufacture and gets the full $5 back. What a bummer.

My Meijer here in Michigan would not take the 5 dollars off stating it was a Target coupon. I tried explaining that other Meijer stores have taken it but still would not let me use it. I do have a question. How do you make sure they use all of your coupons? I hand them a stack of coupons only to look at my recipet afterwords and find out they did not use the all but I can't get them back. I have gone to customer service before but without the coupon they don't always give me my money. I spend so much time couponing that I want to get my money's worth.

I tried this at my Meijer in central Ohio and it worked. Thanks Megan!

Jill to answer your question how I make sure that they take off all the coupons...

I always go to the self checkouts. They have about 5 lanes at my meijer that have the longer belts to put your groceries on so it still works well if you have a lot of groceries

Then at the end I am able to scan all the coupons. I do all the coupons that I'm pretty sure will work and then all the ones that won't scan I put aside and have someone help. I can stand there and watch them do each one and I can see the total on the screen go down so I know it's working and they get all of them!

This works really well for me!

Feel free to email me if this didn't make sense or if you'd like more info!!

Thanks for commenting!

I tried to do this deal yesterday at my central OH Meijer, which I usually don't have any trouble with. However, my coupon also only took off $2 and I clearly bought 5 boxes of cereal. I did not use the self checkout, and I also did not notice that the coupon only took off $2 until I got home. I am debating whether or not to go back and go to the customer service desk, because without the coupon (and I can't print out another one from my computer) I'm not sure they'll give me any money back.

Regarding the comments about Meijer stores not accepting the coupon because it is a Target coupon, I've asked 2 cashiers at my Meijer store and they both told me that Meijer will accept ANY manufacturer coupon. Not sure if it is up to individual stores though or if it is a corporate policy. Has anyone emailed the company?

Coupon Master, thanks, now I understand why my coupon only deducted $2 instead of the whole $5

I did this deal at a self checkout in central Ohio and it worked fine. I was told that it is based on the coupon barcode and coded on the registers. As a result, some coupons are coded to just take off $5 off 1, therefore, only taking off $2 for some people (and may need override from the cashier). This might explain why it works for some self checkouts at certain Meijer stores. I hope this may clarify those who are having trouble at their Meijer.
