New Linky and Giveaway

Hmmm how do I start...This idea hit me like a ton of bricks. The Lord really laid this on my heart. I'm going to start a mister linky for sharing God's word, Encouragement, or Prayer requests. I don't want this to become a debate on how we interpret God's word but rather a way to encourage and pray for one another.
-----
Wouldn't if be great if we could hop from one blog to another and receive encourage from God's word and know who and what to pray for. When we have a prayer request wouldn't it be great to know that there's lots of people out there praying just for you! I think that would be awesome! We serve an awesome God and I'm excited to see Him work.
--------
Your post can be as simple as a verse from the Bible, a simple prayer request to as in depth and personal as you want to be. I'm sure it will vary from week to week depending on what God is working on and speaking to you in your life.
--------
Each Wednesday I will do my post and put up a mister linky. You can blog as you normally would and then come here and link up! Your welcome to use my banner at the top of this post. (just right click and save).
So what do you think? Does it sound like something you'd like to participate in??
******
And what better way to kick off this new linky than a giveaway!
Oil of Gladness will give away this 25 oz. soy wax candle. This candle is scented in "Honeydew Melon". (Sorry for the poor picture quality). This is one of mine and my husbands favorite scents. It's wonderful!
************
How do you enter...
1.All you need to do to enter is leave a comment! That's it!!!
Be sure to leave me your email or a way to contact you.
------------------
2. If you want an extra entry
Blog about this new linky on your blog. You can even add your first word of encouragement, prayer request, or section of God's word that's speaking to you.
Be sure you add yourself to the mister linky below!
-----
At the end I will add up all the linkys and all the comments and choose 1 winner with random.org.
Next Tuesday at 8pm, the giveaway will end and I will post the winner with next weeks "In His Word Wednesday"
-------
As I pondered not doing this and ignoring God's tug on my heart, this verse came to my mind...Acts 4:29
Now Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.
I knew the tug wasn't going away so here I am trying to be bold for Him.

I love candles.... Anyone: How do you get a candle to burn evenly?

Enter me please.

If you have a good candle it should burn evenly automatically, as long as you let it burn until it's completely liquid on top. usually a min. of 2-3 hrs.

But don't burn it too long or you might lose the wicks. I burnt mine for 14 hrs and the whole candle was liquid and my wicks fell into the wax...opps!

You can also get a topper for your candle, the say that helps them burn evenly. I've never tried one...

My comment won't win the giveaway!!!

Great giveaway! Great blog!

The top reason why my own candles don't burn evenly is because they weren't sitting evenly in the holder or on the table surface. Sometimes I get lazy and stick a new candle into a holder that has wax residue from a previous candle, but I always regret it because even that little bit of residue is enough to set the candle off-kilter. If the candle isn't level, then the heat isn't evenly distributed.

Megan's right on about letting the candle burn long enough. If you extinguish the candle too soon, it may not burn evenly in the future.

I would also advise trimming the wick when it needs it. If the wick is too long, it can cause smoking, uneven heat distribution, etc.

And even though this isn't related to even burning, if you store your candles in the freezer for a few hours before lighting them, then they'll burn longer. And, if you have trouble getting leftover candle wax out of a holder, just add a little water to the holder before you light the candle. It will make removing the spent wax easier.

Anyone else have any random candle tips? :-)

Thank you for the great site - glad the Lord is leading you in this path - what a blessing it will be for others and yours too. I love the thought of a honeymelon candle - sounds like a bit of summer promise!

Here is the verse God lead me to - not just once but over and over this week - He knows I can be a stubborn one in getting "the message" (wink)

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own" (Matthew 6:34).
