I didn't feel that this week was overly impressive! But I did manage to get everything in my $55. budget and for around $1. per item average. I guess I can't complain!!
At Kroger I spent $28.00 saved $26.20 (48%)--got 31 items
---------
Total spent $54.96--Couldn't get much closer than that!
---
I'm hoping for some better sales and deals next week! How'd you do?

None of the food looks very healthy. How can I keep a low budget and buy healthy food at the same time...any ideas?
If you're going to buy a lot of fresh veggies and fruit you will have a little bit higher bill.
I got grapes, bananas, apples, cheese, potatoes, pasta, yogurt, cole slaw, eggs. I already have most items for our meals. So I buy pretty much what's on sale so it varies each week...
I definately buy a lot of not so healthy stuff but I also have a freezer full of veggies from last summer and applesause (from our apples), peaches and so on...
I think that's a great way to save is grow your own and freeze or can it if that's an option for you..
hth
It's me Anonymous again, lol. Thanks for pointing that out--I didn't see the apples or grapes. I am new to couponing and am trying to figure out how to do this. I don't normally buy a lot of convenience foods but I'm SO intrigued by the $55 budget. I'm at least twice that (family of 6) right now. Thanks for the feedback! This is my first time posting on a blog..:)
I'm new to your blog and extremely impressed with this grocery shopping. Do you shop sales and use coupons from the paper or do you have another secret?
Hi there, yes almost everything I buy is on sale and most of the items I also have coupons for.
Here is how I do it, if you're interested...It's also in my sidebar under "couponing"
