QOTW -- Favorite Board Game

To go along with the Crayola Theme this week
"Affordable Family Fun 101"
My Random Question of the week is

"What's your (or family's)
Favorite Board Game"???

***
My kids are finally getting out of the little kids board games era.
We mainly play board games in the winter.
The last couple Winters we enjoyed teaching them these games...
Clue
Monopoly
Risk
(although we onlyplay 1-2 times per year - it's long)
Masterpiece
Battleship
Stratego
Scotland Yard
(I added links if you want more info on some the odd games!)
I guess I didn't really give you a favorite but favorites!!!
How about you and your family???
I love getting new ideas for games!

We play Munchkin...here's the link

Its a silly game that involves strategy and quick thinking and "monsters." It takes 4 people about 1.5 hours to play if you stretch it. You can have as many people play as you want, you can buy expansion packs and combine different worlds together to create silliness. We also like to play Cranium, puzzles, Sorry, Life.

We LOVE Munchkin!

Apples to Apples is another great big group game. The more people you have the better. It's an excellent vocabulary builder at the same time :D

We love playing Monopoly, except the hubby wants to quit towards the end because one of the kids always wins and I just won't quit. We love it anyways! And Dice. And Battleship. I myself love to beat people at Blokus... =)

I forgot about Blokus, we love that one too!!

I remember playing Life as a kid and loved it. We don't have it, I'll have to look into getting it!

Parchesi is a good classic game (if you can find it)for all ages!!

For the adults (its a little complicated for younger children) - I LOVE LOVE LOVE "Settlers of Catan"..its a strategy game combining aspects of Risk and Monopoly. But it doesn't last as long as Monopoly, for sure!

Board games are a great way for families to have fun and practice math facts, which I encourage with my students and their families. Not enough families spend time doing that these days, it seems!

When my kids were small, they loved Monopoly. As I kid, I loved Password. My current students jut LOVE Blokus, a great game of strategic thinking and geometry!

Yes LilKim I looked into getting Settlers of Catan a couple years ago and thought it looked great, but still haven't gotten it... maybe this year, thanks for the reminder!
