Moving...

I've debated whether to post about this and had pretty much decided not to.

However I kept feeling like I was hiding something if I didn't. I want to be transparent here, I want you all to know we're no where near perfect. We struggle and struggle in a lot of areas. But Even when life doesn't go as planned and even when you feel like all is lost. If you have Jesus it's no where near lost. Even if you mess up 100, 1000, a million times. He loves you and wants nothing more than for you to call out to him, to accept him in your heart, and to put your trust in him.
So here's what's been going on...

We're moving... (or I should say just moved)
Not exactly because we want to, but because we simply can't afford our house anymore. Our income has been going down for over a year now and it's just come to a point that we can't cut any more bills out except our house. We have some unsecured debt that has built up over the years mostly from our business and other unwise decisions. We're not proud of this and it hasn't helped our situation. But the main cause of all of this is income that has been cut by about 70%. So for now we're moving into my in-laws "Walkout basement home". I say "basement home" because it's fully furnished including FULL kitchen, washer/dryer, big pantry area, our own entry, and aprox.. 1300 sf. We have everything we need to live there completely independent and it's a beautiful place!

It will be tight for 6 of us but we're actually excited about the opportunity to get out of debt (assuming that work doesn't continue to go down).
We live in the middle of RV capitol and the economy around here has been crushed. My hubby's job is to install flooring (carpet & vinyl) He is paid per job. So when there isn't work he doesn't get paid. The store that he works from has went from around 20 installers to about 8 (and some of the 8 are very part time).

We're still trying to sell our house but it doesn't look good. We've had it on the market for almost 3 months and have only had 1 person look at it. If you could, pray it sells. I know it only takes 1 person but houses in this area are just not selling...

So there it is, that's what's going on.
I pray this doesn't hinder my testimony in any way here on Daily Essentials. We live for God but are obviously not perfect and have never claimed to be!!! We started a more frugal way of living a little over a year ago. That's when I started this site. Unfortunately it doesn't erase the years before. I hope this is an encouragement to anyone else out there struggling. God will provide all your needs according to his purpose and his will. We just need to let Him and lean on Him!

Things like this also make you remember what's important. We still have everything that's important. A Savior, Family, Health, Food, Roof, Clothes! Having our "own" is just an extra... I'm so thankful that God is providing so well for us and that He's given us so many Blessings.

And My God will meet all your needs according to his
glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Psalm 4:19

I will be praying for you and your family. You're right this area has been hard hit, I have had other friends this has happened to and it's not easy, however remember God is in control. Even when the Enemy is trying to get us down, God uses it for our good.

Megan,
"All I have needed, His hand hath provided. Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me." Isn't that promise of God great!?! Not what we want, but what we need... He knows your needs before you even speak them and your testimony is that He provides! Be encouraged today - you have not let anyone down...
Prayers and Thankfulness for Provision,
Hope

I will pray for you and your family. I know what it's like. Trust me. I have not worked in 3 years (my only income has been the child support my youngest daughter pays) and it's been very tight. I just got off the phone w/the cable company. Had to disconnect that and now trying to make payment arrangements to get the pending balance paid. Thankfully, my rent is based on my income, my car is paid for and I qualify for food stamps. I'm determined not to let this get me down though!

Thank you for your example of faith even during times of tribulation!

Sending up a little prayer for you.

I don't think your message is hindered at all by telling about this. We all make mistakes. Sometimes we make big mistakes. Sounds like you're just in a bad circumstance you weren't prepared for! Bless you, and I hope something happens for you soon!

I will be praying for your house to sell. I know times are difficult for all of us. I have not been able to find work in two years. My husband is our only source of income and he may loose his job soon. A few months ago he was out of work and we both had no income. We have been to the bottom. No matter what we have been though and how much we have had to struggle God has always provided for us. We have always had food, clothing and shelter. Who knows what God has planed for your family. I know what ever God does it always comes out to something good in the end. Take care and God bless your family!

Megan,
Your site has been an encouragement to me for the last 11 months! My husband and I came into a great amount of credit card debt early in our marriage and we have paid 70% but still have a few more years. I came to your site at a time when I was completely down and didn't how to even coupon. This past year we have put ourselves back in the driver's seat and I owe that to your site! Your Christian example is incredible! I will be praying for you and your family and I think nothing less of you!

I'm praying for you and your family. My friend always gives me this reminder when I'm going through tough times: "If God brings you TO it, He will bring you THROUGH it."

I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I understand the downsizing. We just moved to another state for my hubby's job. He is Air Force, although he makes a good income I did too. Now i'm not working. It is harder to live on a smaller amount of money. You are truly blessed to have somewhere to go!! In the end it's not how big or nice your house is, it's the memories you make in it that are important! Keep us posted on the sale of your house. GOOD LUCK and God Bless

Well I have to tell you I got all teary eyed reading the encouraging and heart warming things your readers had to say....I think that is takes great courage to be transparent through hard circumstances, but I think it is exactly what God want us to do. I think the Devil loves to put "PRIDE" in the way of following through with what God wants us to do. You made a good choice by sharing and I think it is always important for others to realize that just because we are Christians our lives are not perfect and rosy all the time (in a circumstancial way of thinking) but because we have Jesus as our Savior and rock to lean on we make it through the hard stuff...only because of Him. When we come out on the other side of these trials...we are that much better of a followers of His ways and an even better tesimony to those around us...WE LOVE YOU GUYS!!! We will pay for your house to sell very quickly!

Megan, thank you so very much for sharing this. There are so many people who are in your situation and do not know what to too. As you have in the past, I know you will help us while you are learning along the way. I pray the Lord uses this time for His glory. I pray the Lord will sell your house. Blessings dear one, Tracylea

We are pretty much in the same situation - house is on the market and it looks like we will be moving into my parents old house this summer. We are tired of being slaves to our debt even though it was our stupid fault we got into the mess we are in. But we serve a loving and FORGIVING God and He will be with us through this whole process. It is amazing how relying on God instead of Visa is a whole lot less stressful. We are considering this a lesson well learned. Praying that your house will sell soon too!
